The primary, printed chart used by English navigators of the Caribbean during the latter part of the 17th century and the first half of the 18th century. It was published in The English Pilot, Book IV, the first English, navigational atlas specifically devoted to American waters. This chart appeared in the first edition of this atlas in 1689 and in later editions through 1749. North is to the right on the chart, which provides the locations of anchorages and indicates shoals and wrecks.
