Original wash and outline color, cartouche is in later color; excellent condition.

Elegant and originally colored map depicting the Bay of Bengal at the height of the Mughal Empire. The map shows all of the port cities on the bay, as well as some of the known cities further inland, including the area that is present day Calcutta. An elaborate cartouche featuring European traders and native figures is located in the bottom-right.
